Zion Williamson, Pelicans vs. Giannis, Bucks Postponed Amid New Orleans Snowstorm
The NBA announced Wednesday's game between the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks has been postponed due to the inclement weather in New Orleans.
The league has yet to set a new date for Wednesday's matchup.
Around 10 inches of snow was measured in the city, matching a record set in 1895, creating dangerous traveling conditions for local residents.
The Bucks could be impacted as well. NBA insider Chris Haynes reported the team is worried it won't be able to leave New Orleans in enough time to make Thursday's game against the Miami Heat, which tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Were Milwaukee to miss that contest, it would create another problem for the league because Heat vs. Bucks is slated for a national audience on TNT and truTV.
The NBA already had to resolve scheduling headaches that resulted from four earlier postponements.
Wintry conditions forced the Atlanta Hawks' matchup with the Charlotte Hornets to be moved from Jan. 11 to Jan. 28. The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers had two and one games apiece postponed due to the wildfires in the L.A. area.
All told, nine changes were made to the schedule and the Lakers have yet to get a makeup date for their game against the San Antonio Spurs that was supposed to take place on Jan. 11.
