WWE News: 5 Things Not to Expect for Tomorrow's RAW from Corpus Christi
WWE RAW emanates from Corpus Christi, TX tomorrow, and with stout competition from what should be a highly rated National Title game between Louisiana State University and Alabama, expect the WWE to hold its cards and maintain current storylines as they look to walk into a slaughterhouse with ratings patterns already trending downward lately.
Here's a list of events wrestling fans can expect not to happen as the WWE continues its build towards the Royal Rumble at the end of the month.
Don't Expect Chris Jericho to Speak
1 of 5A lot of the buzz heading into tomorrow's RAW centers around the return of Chris Jericho—a return that received a grade of "INC" from many wrestling fans who will be interested in seeing a possible follow-up.
Expect Jericho to continue his enigmatic act of strange silence accompanied by an ingenuous smile.
Possible physical action from Jericho is within the realm of possibility, as Jericho may very well make a full heel turn by attacking a beloved babyface.
The WWE may figure to keep Jericho silent in order to keep fans intrigued headed into next Monday's RAW, when the non-History channel competition dies down a bit.
Don't Expect Brodus Clay to Debut
2 of 5For several weeks now, the WWE has been teasing the impending debut of Brodus Clay, both through TV vignettes and backstage segments with Interim RAW GM John Laurinaitis promising that each following week will be 'the week' that Brodus Clay is afforded TV time for his debut.
Expect this pattern to continue, as it now seems that the WWE Universe will not see Brodus Clay until the Royal Rumble, where he should have a nice showing before being eliminated.
Don't Expect CM Punk to Be Featured in the Main Event
3 of 5Since "Black Monday" a few weeks back, when the WWE catered to the one percent only to be rewarded with one of the most pathetic overrun ratings in history, the WWE has responded by slotting Punk earlier in the show while focusing on proven ratings draw John Cena and Kane in the main event.
With the WWE leaving fans with somewhat of a cliffhanger ending between Cena and Kane to conclude last week's RAW, expect the WWE to once again end RAW with yet another chapter in the Cena-Kane feud.
Don't Expect a Merciful Ending to the Zack Ryder-Eve Romance Storyline
4 of 5For Ryder's involvement in the aforementioned shoddy overrun ratings, he has been punished with a hard-to-watch love angle opposite WWE Diva Eve.
Ryder should be back alongside the former Diva's Champion for more backstage tomfoolery as he continues his U.S. Title feud with weekly RAW jobber Jack Swagger.
Don't Expect Chris Jericho to Work a Match
5 of 5Last time Chris Jericho returned, he was subsequently booked in a competitive, unadvertised match against comedy act Santino Marella on free TV.
Don't look for the WWE to make a similar mistake, as they are likely saving his in-ring debut for paying customers.
The only way Chris Jericho should be wrestling on free TV is if it receives the appropriate amount of fanfare and buildup, but I still think a free Jericho debut would be a monumental mistake.
Big Nasty won three Fantasy FaNASTY Football Championships in 2011 and he still had time to break down Chris Jericho's return. See him do both on B/R Video.
