NFL Rumors: Latest Reports Heading into 2025 Divisional Bracket
Mike McCarthy has gone from Dallas Cowboys head coach to one of the hottest coaching candidates in the NFL.
The now-former Cowboys head coach has generated interest from at least two teams with coaching vacancies.
Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is still the hottest name on the coaching wire, but McCarthy owns the most experience of the coaches set for interviews.
As for McCarthy's former employer, the Cowboys are still in the infant stages of their coaching search.
Plenty of names have been floated out there in association with the Cowboys, but interviews have yet to take place.
Mike McCarthy Gaining Interest From Two Teams

The Chicago Bears are reportedly set to interview Mike McCarthy on Wednesday, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also reported that McCarthy is expected to speak with the New Orleans Saints early next week.
McCarthy should generate plenty of attention on the coaching market given his track record in both Green Bay and Dallas.
A Super Bowl-winning coach with many double-digit win seasons isn't available every year, and it could be a game-changer for the franchise that hires McCarthy.
It's not guaranteed that McCarthy lands a job in this cycle of hires, but it looks like his name will at least be in the mix in multiple spots.
Cowboys Have No Official Interviews Set Yet

NFL Network's Jane Slater provided some insight into the early stages of the Dallas Cowboys coaching search on Tuesday.
"It sounds like Jerry has been on a bit of a solo mission. He's picking up the phone. He's making calls."
"It's my understanding he has not yet called Kellen Moore, he has not yet called Kliff Kingsbury, he has not yet called (Steve) Sarkisian, Jon Gruden has not gotten a call yet either."
The Dallas coaching search could go any which way because of who is running the show.
If Jerry Jones opts for Deion Sanders or Steve Sarkisian, the Cowboys would have to pay a buyout to Colorado or Texas.
Kellen Moore is a fascinating candidate for Dallas because he has familiarity with the organization from his time as offensive coordinator from 2019-22.
Like the other teams with coaching vacancies, the Cowboys will probably cast a wide net, but they may end up interviewing a different set of candidates than the other five teams in need of a head coach.
