Video: Patrick Beverley Calls LiAngelo Ball's 'Tweaker' a 'Trash-Ass Song'

LiAngelo Ball's viral song "Tweaker" has generated praise since its recent release, but former NBA guard Patrick Beverley doesn't see the appeal.

During the latest episode of The Pat Bev Podcast, Beverley criticized the track.

"That is a trash-ass song, dog," Beverley said.

"It's catchy," he added. "It's a catchy song, but no one knows any other words."

Ball, the brother of Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball and Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball, has seen his song become an immediate hit. The track has already generated just over 6.5 million views on YouTube in seven days since it was released.

The song has especially gained popularity throughout the sports landscape, as it was played in the Detroit Lions' locker room after the team clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC entering the playoffs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have also played the song in the locker room after games, while Lonzo played a new track from his brother to his teammates in Chicago's facilities.

Milwaukee Bucks star point guard Damian Lillard, who has his own music career, has given the song his stamp of approval.

Ball has already been announced as a performer at the Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles on March 15.

The 26-year-old averaged 4.4 points in 13.1 minutes per game across 31 appearances with the Greensboro Swarm in the NBA G League from 2021-23, but he appears to be shifting his career towards music after his song took off.

As for Beverley, he played with seven different teams during a 12-year NBA career that spanned from the 2012-13 season through his 2023-24 campaign. He then signed a deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC in the Israeli Premier League ahead of the 2024-25 season.

There have been several outspoken fans of Ball's latest track, but Beverley isn't one of them.
