Jets News: Vikings' Ryan Grigson Reportedly Scheduled to Interview for GM Job

Andrew PetersJan 8, 2025

The New York Jets reportedly have a new interview lined up for their vacant general manager position.

Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Minnesota Vikings vice president of player personnel Ryan Grigson is scheduled to interview for the position over the weekend.

Grigson has been an NFL executive for more than 20 years, working his way up from a regional scout to becoming the Philadelphia Eagles director of player personnel in 2010. From there, he served as the Indianapolis Colts general manager from 2012 to 2016.

Under Grigson, the Colts won two division titles, reached the playoffs three times and went to the AFC Championship in 2014. He was let go after Indianapolis had back-to-back 8-8 seasons in 2015 and 2016.

Grigson worked various roles for the Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks before landing his current job with the Vikings in 2022.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported earlier this week that the Jets had requested an interview with Grigson as the Vikings prepare for their wild-card matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic reported Tuesday that New York had completed interviews with former Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff, former Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson, ESPN analyst Louis Riddick and Senior Bowl executive Jim Nagy.

Rosenblatt also noted the Jets have requested an interview with Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant general manager Mike Greenberg.

Additionally, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday the Jets have requested to interview Kansas City Chiefs assistant general manager Mike Borgonzi and Los Angeles Rams senior personnel executive Ray Farmer. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the Jets have requested an interview with Cincinnati Bengals senior personnel executive Trey Brown.

New York has a long offseason ahead of it as it looks to replace its head coach and general manager, but the Jets are seemingly hitting the ground running with a laundry list of candidates for both positions.
