Lakers' LeBron, Anthony Davis Praised by Fans Despite Loss to Dillon Brooks, Rockets
Despite the Los Angeles Lakers' 119-115 loss to the Houston Rockets on Sunday night, LeBron James and Anthony Davis dazzled fans with a combined 51-point performance on the road.
The loss dropped the Lakers to 20-15, while the Rockets improved to 23-12, fueled by a dominant showing from Jalen Green, who posted 33 points.
James nearly secured a triple-double, finishing with 21 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, shooting 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Davis shone with 30 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks.
On the Rockets' side, Green added six rebounds and four assists to his 33-point outing, while Amen Thompson contributed 23 points, 16 rebounds and three assists. Dillon Brooks struggled, managing just five points, five rebounds and three assists while shooting 2-of-8 from the field.
Social media lit up with praise for the Lakers duo, commending their resilience in the narrow defeat:
Austin Reaves opened scoring for the Lakers with a floater and later nailed a 24-foot three-pointer midway through the first quarter. He finished the night with 21 points.
The Lakers trailed 67-49 at halftime after allowing the Rockets to explode for 31 points in the second quarter.
James took over in the third quarter, scoring 14 of his 21 points as the Lakers surged back with a 40-24 run, closing the gap.
The Lakers brought it within two points off a James bucket with eight seconds remaining, but their comeback effort fell short as the Rockets sealed the game at the free-throw line in the final moments.
On Tuesday, the Lakers will aim for redemption as they take on the Dallas Mavericks, who are determined to end their four-game losing streak.
