Raiders Rumors: Antonio Pierce, Staff Haven't Been Given 'Any Guarantees' on Future
Amid a disappointing 4-12 record in his first season as a full-time head coach, Antonio Pierce could be coaching his final game with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Raiders haven't given "any guarantees" to Pierce or his staff about returning in 2025.
Pierce has publicly dismissed any concerns about his job status. The 46-year-old told reporters he's "under contract" when asked about his future during a press conference on Dec. 17.

Raiders owner Mark Davis declined to address Pierce's status last month, but did express frustration with how the team has played.
"I don't even want to talk about that right now," Davis said of Pierce's job security. "Like I said, we're still playing through the season. ... Obviously, we're not happy. But you have to go through the season, and then you evaluate. And right now, I'm not in that position to evaluate anything."
In addition to the Raiders' poor performance on the field this season, they have undergone significant changes to the structure of the organization in recent months. Tom Brady and Richard Seymour were approved as limited partners in the ownership group in October.
Brady, in particular, figures to have a lot of influence over the direction of the franchise. At the same time Davis was asked about Pierce's job status, he also addressed Brady overseeing the football operations department.
"It's part of building the infrastructure of the organization, which is something we didn't have—a football person on that side of it that's not a coach or as a manager," Davis said. "Somebody that can oversee the whole picture. And I believe Tom, in time, will be the person that can do that."
After going 5-4 as interim coach in 2023, Pierce was named the full-time coach in January. The Raiders will finish last in the AFC West this season for the first time since 2018. If they lose in the regular-season finale on Sunday, they will finish with 13 losses for the first time since 2014 (3-13).
