Steelers' Mike Tomlin: 'Sucked' to Lose to Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs on Christmas

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin didn't mince words after his team's Christmas Day loss.

The Steelers fell 29-10 to the Kansas City Chiefs, dropping to 10-6 on the season. Following the game, Tomlin said that the loss "sucked, to be blunt."

The Steelers dropped into a Wild Card spot with the loss, as the Baltimore Ravens jumped to first in the AFC North and control their destiny in the division with two games to go.

Pittsburgh went down 13-0 in the first quarter and never truly recovered. The Chiefs produced 389 offensive yards and did not turn the ball over. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes went 29-of-38 for 320 yards and three touchdowns while Travis Kelce, Xavier Worthy Justin Watson and Kareem Hunt all scored touchdowns.

The Steelers actually possessed the ball for more time than Kansas City and outrushed the Chiefs 202-69. Pittsburgh's struggles came via two turnovers and five sacks, which halted any offensive momentum.

The Steelers have clinched a playoff spot but now have lost three consecutive games. Pittsburgh no longer controls its destiny for the Division and will hope to return to form in Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
