Netflix released a trailer on Christmas for the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 movie starring Adam Sandler, a sequel to the 1996 comedy classic.

The trailer included a cameo from Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who has been branching out into the entertainment world as the host of Are You Smarter than a Celebrity on Prime Video and as a supporting cast member on FX's Grotesquerie.

Julie Bowen will return as Gilmore's love interest Virginia Venit, while Christopher McDonald returns as the iconic Shooter McGavin. Newcomers to the second film include Kelce, Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Nick Swardson, Kid Cudi and Benny Safdie. Kyle Newacheck is directing.

Rapper Eminem will also have a cameo in the film.

"I've known Eminem for a long time, and he's a great guy," Sandler said on The Dan Patrick Show earlier in December (h/t Brendan Morrow of USA Today). "He came in and was funny as hell. I think we just hung out a day with Eminem and just shot and shot, and it was insane. (He) said a million things we can use."

Sandler also said legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus will make a cameo, and noted that "all these great golfers came by" to shoot a scene. And he noted that the release date on Netflix is expected to be in July 2025, though that isn't finalized.
