The Kansas City Chiefs will be without a key defensive star on Christmas Day against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones is officially out for Wednesday's showdown with a calf injury that he suffered in the team's Week 16 win over the Houston Texans.

The 30-year-old has been a menace on the defensive line for the Chiefs yet again this season, registering 37 tackles (nine for loss), five sacks, 20 quarterback hits and a forced fumble. The five-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro selection doesn't have the gaudy counting stats of years past, but he continues to dominate the line of scrimmage.

His absence will be felt, especially in a game with major postseason implications. The 14-1 Chiefs can wrap up the top overall seed in the AFC Playoffs with a win, while the 10-5 Steelers are looking to remain ahead of the 10-5 Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North.
