Updated 2025 NFL Draft Order Following Week 16 Sunday Results

The New York Giants are in pole position to land the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

New York left Week 16 as the only team with two wins in the NFL.

The Las Vegas Raiders left the Giants behind as the worst team in the league thanks to their home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

However, the Las Vegas win might not be the best long-term play for the franchise.

The Raiders tumbled all the way out of the top five with their defeat, and that could cost them a shot at one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 draft class.

The Giants are in an ideal position to start an organizational reboot in 2025.

New York dropped its 13th game of the campaign on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

The NFC East side just needs to lose two more games to secure the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft.

A new quarterback will be at the top of the shopping list for the Giants, who already moved on from Daniel Jones this season.

The Giants have a strong piece in wide receiver Malik Nabers, but the 2024 first-round pick needs a better quarterback to throw him the ball.

Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Miami's Cam Ward will likely be the top choices for the Giants at No. 1.

The quarterback class is not as strong as the 2024 class, but Sanders and Ward both have potential and could become stars in the NFL.

Raiders Drop to No. 6 Pick

The Raiders might not have a chance to land their quarterback of the future in April's first round.

Las Vegas suffered a drop of four spots from No. 2 to No. 6 with its Week 16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Of course, the players care more about pride and winning games each week than tanking, but from the long-term view, the Raiders might have lost out.

A case could be made that the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, who sit at No. 4 and No. 5, should each pick a quarterback in the first round.

If that is the case, the Raiders could be left looking for other options on the veteran free-agent market.

They could still land a franchise cornerstone at No. 6, but there's a scenario where they have little options on the quarterback market.
