Scott Stewart Wins $2.6M of $23.4M Prize Money Pool at 2024 WPT World Championship
Scott Stewart was the last player standing after beating out Rob Sherwood on the final table and claimed the title in the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas on Sunday morning.
With the victory, Stewart is nearly $2.6 million richer, claiming the biggest payout from the $23.4 million prize pool.

"No plans for the money, but plans to have some fun and I can't be more excited," he said of the triumph. "I got the best friends in the world… A lot of friends came out. Shout out to you guys. You're the best. We like to have fun, anything we do. We had a little bit of extra fun today and it was worth it."
Holding a jack of clubs and a 10 of diamonds, Stewart went all in. Sherwood called with a seven of hearts and a three of diamonds. The jack proved to be the decisive card as Stewart won with two pair (jacks and fives).
The Long Beach, California, native build a nearly unassailable lead on hand No. 170. Going all in with his pair of kings put his chip count at 232,400,000 to 6,800,000 for Sherwood. An all-in gambit paid off for Sherwood on the next hand, but he was on borrowed time.
By virtue of the win, Stewart has already earned a spot in the 2025 world championship. His $10,400 entry fee for the event is included in his prize money.
