Bettor's $0.85 Parlay Ticket Sells for $17K; Could Win $147K with Ohio State Title

An Ohio State victory in the College Football Playoff could make one risk-taking sports bettor very rich.

A bettor put $0.85 on a 14-leg parlay to win $147,000 back in early 2024 and the bet has seen extreme luck, with the first 13 legs hitting and the 14th one still possible. The last leg to complete would be Ohio State winning a national championship.

While someone will be sweating it out for the Buckeyes, it will not be the original bettor as they sold the bet on Wager Wire for $17,000. The original bettor, whose username on Wager Wire is "unitmetric" sold the parlay to another user named "thecat123454," and now the new owner will be in line for the $147,000 dollar prize.

Some of the other legs of the parlay included the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks winning the Central Division in 2023-24, the NHL's New York Rangers winning the Metropolitan Division in 2023-24 and Oleksandr Usyk beating Tommy Fury for the heavyweight title in May.

Ohio State would need to win four more games to accomplish this. The Buckeyes would have to take down No. 9 Tennessee on Saturday night before a rematch against Oregon in the quarterfinal to reach the final two games. After that, a matchup with either Texas. Clemson or Arizona State would await before the National Championship Game.
