Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs managed to squeak by in a last-second victory once again as Justin Herbert and the Chargers watched from the sideline.

Mahomes ended the night completing 24-of-37 passes for 210 yards and one touchdown, while Herbert completed 21-of-30 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown.

The Chiefs improved to 12-1 to clinch the AFC West over the Chargers who dropped to 8-4.

Fans flooded social media in awe as the Chiefs delivered yet another nail-biting victory:

Both teams had a sluggish start, with the Chargers unable to produce any offense in the first half, leaving them scoreless.

Their tough first half took a turn for the worse when Herbert went down with an apparent left leg injury after a hard hit with just under 4:30 left in the second quarter. Tyler Heinecke stepped in at quarterback, but Herbert was able to return for the next possession.

Wright accounted for all six of the Chiefs' initial points before Mahomes' connected with DeAndre Hopkins on a nine-yard pass to push the Chiefs ahead 13-0 entering halftime.

Coming out of halftime, it was all Chargers. They scored twice in the third quarter—a three-yard rush from Gus Edwards and a four-yard pass to Quentin Johnston—taking a 14-13 lead into the fourth quarter.

It all came down to the kickers in the fourth quarter and Wright and Cameron Dicker went back and forth, putting them through the field goal.

A 4:35 drive spanning 14 plays at the end of the fourth quarter crushed the Chargers' hopes of getting back on the field, as Mahomes flawlessly set up Wright's game-winning "doink" field goal.

With another victory secured, the Chiefs will now aim for their 10th straight win as they face the Cleveland Browns on the road Sunday.
