Fantasy Football Week 15: Rankings, Box Score Stat Projections, Top Waiver-Wire Adds
The fantasy football playoffs are here.
Well, almost here, at least, and the fact you're here as well should be a good sign, since there's a decent shot you secured a playoff spot. Oh, and if you didn't reach the postseason but are here because you still want your team as competitive as possible, props to you. The best fantasy leagues are always the most active.
With lineup questions aplenty already facing fantasy managers for Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season, let's take an early look at our rankings and identify a waiver-wire target (rostered in fewer than 40 percent of Yahoo leagues, per FantasyPros) at the three marquee positions.
Quarterback
1 of 3
Top 10
1. Lamar Jackson, BAL (at NYG)
2. Josh Allen, BUF (at DET)
3. Jalen Hurts, PHI (vs. PIT)
4. Jayden Daniels, WAS (at NO)
5. Joe Burrow, CIN (at TEN)
6. Tua Tagovailoa, MIA (at HOU)
7. Justin Herbert, LAC (vs. TB)
8. C.J. Stroud, HOU (vs. MIA)
9. Bo Nix, DEN (vs. IND)
10. Brock Purdy, SF (vs. LAR)
Waiver-Wire Target: Russell Wilson, PIT (22 Percent Rostered)
The Steelers don't always put a lot on Wilson's plate, but he usually makes the most of his opportunities. While his season-low 158 passing yards Sunday were a letdown, he salvaged his performance by throwing a pair of touchdowns. He also handled a season-high six carries, and while they didn't amount to much (17 yards), they showed he is still willing to try to make plays with his legs.
He's now had five passing touchdowns against a single interception in his past two games and has finished four of his seven starts with multiple touchdown passes.
Projected stats: 22-of-30 for 263 yards and two touchdowns; four carries for 13 yards
Running Back
2 of 3
Top 10
1. Saquon Barkley, PHI (vs. PIT)
2. Derrick Henry, BAL (at NYG)
3. Bijan Robinson, ATL (at LV)
4. Jahmyr Gibbs, DET (vs. BUF)
5. Alvin Kamara, NO (vs. WAS)
6. Joe Mixon, HOU (vs. MIA)
7. Josh Jacobs, GB (at SEA)
8. Chase Brown, CIN (at TEN)
9. Kyren Williams, LAR (at SF)
10. Jonathan Taylor, IND (at DEN)
Waiver-Wire Target: Sincere McCormick, LV (Zero Percent Rostered)
McCormick's roster rate makes sense for myriad reasons, including the crowded nature of this backfield (when everyone is healthy) and his lack of a track record. Having said all of that, injury questions still hover above his primary competition for carries (Alexander Mattison and Zamir White), and even if they didn't, McCormick might have played his way into a prominent role.
After briefly popping for 33 yards on five carries a few weeks back, he's been entrusted with 31 touches (27 carries and four catches) in the two games since. The fact he has converted those chances into 154 scrimmage yards suggest more should be on the way.
Projected stats: 14 carries for 76 yards, two receptions for 18 yards
Wide Receiver
3 of 3
Top 10
1. Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET (vs. BUF)
2. Justin Jefferson, MIN (vs. CHI)
3. Puka Nacua, LAR (at SF)
4. Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (at TEN)
5. Terry McLaurin, WAS (at NO
6. Nico Collins, HOU (vs. MIA
7. Tyreek Hill, MIAR (at HOU)
8. A.J. Brown, PHI (vs. PIT)
9. Mike Evans, TB (at LAC)
10. Courtland Sutton, DEN (vs. IND)
Waiver-Wire Target: Jalen McMillan, TB (21 Percent Rostered)
Fantasy managers have seen that this Tampa offense can support (at least) two fantasy-relevant pass-catchers. It just isn't always clear who the second pass-catcher will be alongside Mike Evans. However, it sure feels like the Buccaneers want McMillan, a rookie third-rounder, to fill that role.
Sunday marked the third time in the last five games that McMillan saw seven-plus passes thrown his way. Most importantly, he made those targets count more than ever, as he matched his season-high in receptions (four) while setting new personal-bests in receiving yards (59) and touchdown catches (two).
Projected stats: Four receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown
