Video: Jake Paul Challenged by Roy Jones Jr. After Mike Tyson Netflix Boxing Fight

Jake Paul may have his next challenger.

The social media star and boxer took down Mike Tyson via unanimous decision in November, improving his professional record to 11-1. A different former world champion is now throwing his name out there, as Roy Jones Jr. told Michael J. Babcock of TMZ Sports that he is interested in taking on Paul in a fight.

The 55-year-old noted that he felt like Tyson did not take advantage of some gaps in Paul's defensive strategy, notably with his chin.

"I don't think Mike checked his chin at all," Jones said, per Babcock. "So, I wouldn't mind having a shot to see if I could get to his chin, to test his chin."

He also said that he sees some of Paul's potential but that Tyson had a very conservative approach and he wants to test that.

"Jake's not a bad puncher," Jones said, per Babcock. "I don't think Mike was really trying to take a lot of risks. He knows the older we get, the tougher it is to take [a punch]. But for me, nah, I gotta go see."

Jones has an overall record of 66-10 with 47 knockouts in his career. He also notably was Tyson's opponent in the 58-year-old's exhibition bout in 2020, which was ruled a draw.

Tyson had not fought professionally since 2005 prior to fighting Paul but Jones is a different story. He last fought professionally in 2023 in a loss to Anthony Pettis but also fought steadily throughout the 2010's. While the age gap between the two would still be significant, Jones' more recent activity within boxing should make it a more even fight.

It looks like the option for Paul to take on another former star boxer is on the table and it is now up to him to accept the challenge.
