Video: Davante Adams Would 'Love' to Return to Jets in 2025 Amid Aaron Rodgers Rumors

Davante Adams says he would "love" to play with the New York Jets in 2025 despite the uncertainty regarding Aaron Rodgers' future with the team.

"That's a great question, and I truly don't have the answer to it right now," Adams said when asked on Wednesday about his plans for next season. "I would love to be a part of this football team. I love these guys... I'd love to go to war with these guys.

"But it's a business, and there's a lot of pieces contractually, and obviously with Aaron's future and a lot of things that I can't control. So we've just got to finish this year off strong, and hopefully we do enough to where everybody's feeling like it's the right thing to do for us to stay here."

Adams requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this season. He reunited with his former Green Bay Packers teammate Rodgers following his trade in October.

When speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Rodgers said one of the best parts of this season has been getting "to sit next to my best friend in the league every single day."

Adams is currently on track to be released in March thanks to the potential out that is built into his contract after this season. He is owed $35.6 million in each of the next two campaigns, but neither of those amounts is guaranteed, per Spotrac.

Rodgers meanwhile has one season and $23.5 million remaining on his deal, but as the Jets tumble down the AFC standings rumors have surfaced that the quarterback will not be returning to New York for his age-42 season.

When asked by a reporter heading into Week 11 if he wanted to play next season, Rodgers answered, "I think so, yeah."

The Athletic's Dianna Russini then wrote during the lead-up to Week 13 that her "understanding is that Rodgers still wants to play in 2025, just not for the New York Jets."

Adams has been open about his desire to play with the Jets being influenced by the opportunity to play with Rodgers again after eight seasons together in Green Bay.

When asked if he had any regrets about the trade after the Jets lost their eighth game of the season in Week 11, Adams said on the Up & Adams show that he did not.

"We're talking about playing with Aaron Rodgers here... This isn't like taking some crazy gamble, going somewhere with some rookie that's unproven," Adams said on Nov. 20.

Adams added: "Neither of us have played what we're capable of playing."

It sounds like Adams is hoping he and Rodgers get another shot at leading the Jets to a winning season in 2025. Whether they get that opportunity could depend on Rodgers' status this spring in addition to his own upcoming contract negotiations.
