Five-star high school shooting guard Alijah Arenas, the son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, wants to push up his 2026 graduation date to reclassify into the Class of 2025.

Gilbert Arenas announced his son's plan on a Monday night livestream, per 247Sports' Eric Bossi.

Per Bossi, the paperwork required to finalize Arenas' reclassification "is expected to be completed in the near future."

Arenas has received interest from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal and Fresno State as a member of the Class of 2026, per 247Sports.

He has also received offers from UCLA, UTEP, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska and Kentucky, per On3.

According to Bossi, Arenas said he plans to visit programs including Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, UCLA and USC this spring.

"I'll be taking visits in the spring, a lot of them," Arenas said.

Gilbert Arenas attended Arizona for two seasons and helped lead the team to a national championship game appearance in 2001.

"My relationship with the staff is great there, we're cool," Arenas told On3's Jamie Shaw about his connection with Arizona in April. "They love my dad there and I love them. I'm trying to build as many relationships as I can as I go through this process. But, Arizona feels like home. They move at a great pace. They play together and as a team."

Arenas also added that his father "has never pushed me, telling me I have to go to any one place."

"He has told me to explore, build the relationships, and see what is best and most comfortable for me," Arenas said.

Arenas also has a family connection with Louisville, where his sister Izela Arenas is a freshman guard for the Cardinals. He has been in attendance at some Louisville games to watch her this season.

Arenas is currently listed as the No. 4 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 by On3 Industry rankings. Should he reclassify he would be competing with high school players including AJ Dybantsa and Cameron Boozer for a top spot among Class of 2025 recruits.
