NFL Standings 2024-25: Week 14 Records, Playoff Bracket Scenarios, Wild-Card Review

Dec 3, 2024

The Denver Broncos continued to move closer to a playoff berth on Monday night, when they capped Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season with a 41-32 home win over the Cleveland Browns. It was a thrilling end to a week during which every team was in action.

Now, it's time to turn the page to Week 14. The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills have already clinched playoff berths, and more teams could join them soon.

Six teams have a bye this week: the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. That leaves a 13-game slate for the Week 14 action.

Here's a look at the current NFL standings, followed by the playoff picture for each conference.

Bye: No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs (11-1)

No. 2 Buffalo Bills (10-2) vs. No. 7 Denver Broncos (8-5)

No. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers (9-3) vs. No. 6 Baltimore Ravens (8-5)

No. 4 Houston Texans (8-5) vs. No. 5 Los Angeles Chargers (8-4)

In the mix: Indianapolis Colts (6-7), Miami Dolphins (5-7), Cincinnati Bengals (4-8), Cleveland Browns (3-9), Tennessee Titans (3-9), New York Jets (3-9)

The defending Super Bowl champions are already heading back to the playoffs. Now, the Chiefs have an opportunity to reclaim their division crown as soon as this week.

Kansas City could win its ninth consecutive AFC West title on Sunday night, when it hosts the Chargers in a divisional matchup. But even if the Chiefs lose, it's still only a matter of time before they wrap up the AFC West with so much time left to do so.

The Bills have already secured their fifth straight AFC East title. But they still have plenty to play for as they try to overtake the Chiefs for the No. 1 seed and receive a first-round bye.

There's no team with a winning record currently outside of a playoff spot in the AFC. So, it's possible the top seven teams end up being the postseason field.

Anything can still happen, though. For example, the Texans have a difficult remaining schedule, which could allow the Colts to stay in the AFC South race.

Bye: No. 1 Detroit Lions (11-1)

No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) vs. No. 7 Washington Commanders (8-5)

No. 3 Seattle Seahawks (7-5) vs. No. 6 Green Bay Packers (9-3)

No. 4 Atlanta Falcons (6-6) vs. No. 5 Minnesota Vikings (10-2)

In the mix: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-6), Arizona Cardinals (6-6), Los Angeles Rams (6-6), San Francisco 49ers (5-7), Dallas Cowboys (5-7), New Orleans Saints (4-8), Chicago Bears (4-8), Carolina Panthers (3-9)

The Lions will have a chance to become the first NFC team to clinch a playoff berth on Thursday night. They're hosting the Packers in a key divisional showdown that could help determine how the NFC North shakes out.

Detroit beat Green Bay earlier in the year, notching a 24-14 road victory in Week 9.

The Eagles and Vikings could also clinch playoff berths in Week 14, but each would need multiple other teams to lose to do so.

Philadelphia should at least get closer to clinching. It will host Carolina in what should be a one-sided contest.

Minnesota is hosting Atlanta in what could be a preview for the postseason, as the teams could meet again come January.
