Eagles Rumors: Inside Philly's 'Galvanizing Moment' That Led to 7-Game Winning Streak
Perhaps no team in the NFL had more question marks coming into the 2024 season than the Philadelphia Eagles after they lost six of their last seven games, including in the Wild Card Round, to end their 2023 campaign.
Those questions didn't go anywhere following an inconsistent 2-2 start, but a reportedly "galvanizing moment" involving head coach Nick Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts during the Week 5 bye has turned things around and led to an ongoing seven-game winning streak.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided details Sunday, noting Sirianni and Hurts were in constant contact during the bye week with Zoom calls, phone calls and in-person meetings.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"According to multiple sources, they spent hours each day breaking down the team, focusing on the offense, spotlighting leadership and hitting on all issues," Rapoport wrote while adding that another source used the "galvanizing" description.
It wasn't just them, as assistant coaches such as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and star running back Saquon Barkley were also involved in some of the calls and meetings. There were X's and O's breakdowns, hard questions about leadership and overall bonding, and the team appears to have come out the other side much better off.
Philadelphia now sits at 9-2 and three games clear of the Washington Commanders in the loss column in the NFC East. One of those seven consecutive wins was over the Commanders, and Hurts and Co. have likely shifted their attention toward the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC and the first-round bye that comes with it.
The Eagles are chasing the 11-1 Detroit Lions, but one slip from the NFC North team could open the door.
The offense has done nothing but click since the bye week and is third in the NFL in yards per game (389.1). Barkley looks like a potential MVP candidate with 1,649 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns through 11 games, which has made life easier for Hurts.
Opposing defenses have to pick their poison with Barkley and Hurts capable of making plays with their legs and receivers such as A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on the outside, and the result is an offense that has largely been unstoppable.
Sunday's road game against fellow Super Bowl contenders in the Baltimore Ravens will present quite the test, but the Eagles have done nothing but rise to the occasion since the meetings during the bye.
