Bron Breakker Retains WWE IC Title vs. Sheamus, Ludwig Kaiser at 2024 Survivor Series

Bron Breakker defeated Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser in a Triple Threat match at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames on Saturday to retain the Intercontinental Championship.

The three were bruised and bloody before Kaiser appeared ready to take command of the match, smashing Sheamus face-first into the mat and preparing to pin him.

Breakker then charged in with a spear on Kaiser, saving his title before turning to Sheamus and hitting him with a spear as well, pinning him to retain.

Breakker entered Survivor Series in the midst of his second IC title reign, as he dropped it to Jey Uso in September before winning it back about a month later due largely to interference from The Bloodline.

With Jey preoccupied, new challengers began to step up, and chief among them was Sheamus, who rekindled a previous rivalry with Breakker by facing him on an episode of WWE Speed.

Breakker and Sheamus fought to a time-limit draw in their WWE Speed match before brawling afterward, and their feud later carried over to Raw.

The Celtic Warrior noted that the Intercontinental Championship was the one major title he had never won in WWE, and he laid down a challenge to Breakker in hopes of adding it to his already Hall of Fame-worthy résumé.

Sheamus was granted a title shot on the Nov. 18 episode of Raw, however, there was not a decisive ending due to Kaiser interfering and attacking Breakker, thus causing a disqualification.

One week later, Breakker faced Kaiser in an effort to gain some retribution, and their match was thrown out as well when Sheamus interfered and took the fight to Kaiser.

With all three Superstars embroiled in a heated rivalry, the decision was made by Raw general manager Adam Pearce to pit them against each other in a Triple Threat with the IC title on the line at Survivor Series.

Breakker found himself in a precarious position since it was possible for him to lose the title without taking the fall.

Despite that, Breakker was victorious at Survivor Series, perhaps marking the win he needed in order to go on a long and dominant title reign.
