Xavier McKinney Makes Cryptic Posts amid Giants Drama: 'Get the F--k out My Faccceee'

Joseph ZuckerNov 25, 2024

Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney is certainly feeling good after intercepting his seventh pass and tying for the league lead in his team's 38-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

In a series of posts on X, McKinney reveled in his performance and made what some considered a subtle dig at his old team, the New York Giants:

The Giants could own the distinction of having the eventual Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year winners both walk in the previous offseason.

McKinney is making a strong case for himself with his seven picks, nine pass breakups and 54 tackles. On the other side of the ball, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is leading the NFL with 1,392 rushing yards and 6.2 yards per carry.

New York, meanwhile, is tied for the worst record in the league at 2-9 and pretty much everything is going wrong.

Quarterback Daniel Jones is out the door two years after signing his $160 million contract. It looks increasingly like head coach Brian Daboll and maybe even general manager Joe Schoen could be out of a job themselves. The Giants players don't have any answers amid the team's stretch of dreadful performances.

When it comes to Barkley, one could argue failing to re-sign him was a mistake but that returning to New York wouldn't have produced the kind of year he's enjoying now. The supporting cast and offensive line are simply much stronger on the Eagles.

With McKinney, it's a little more straightforward in terms of envisioning the impact he might've had in the Giants secondary.

Perhaps getting snubbed by New York, which selected him in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft, provided the 26-year-old with the necessary motivation to have the best season of his career.

If there was any lingering frustration with his exit, McKinney probably considers leaving the Big Apple to be a blessing in disguise.
