As if things weren't going poorly enough for the Dallas Cowboys, a piece of the roof at their AT&T Stadium fell ahead of Monday's game against the Houston Texans.

As multiple reporters shared, the piece fell when the roof was being opened ahead of the contest and nearly hit multiple people. While the roof was being opened for the first time since 2022, it was then closed after the incident.

"We can confirm a piece of metal came loose and fell to the field (with some additional small debris) while the roof was in the process of opening," a Cowboys spokesperson said in a statement. "There were no injuries. It is being reviewed further, and a decision regarding the ability to re-open the roof safely will be made when possible."

AT&T Stadium has been under more of a spotlight than usual this season.

CeeDee Lamb lost a potential touchdown pass in the sun during the Cowboys' Week 10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and the wide receiver then told reporters he would "1,000 percent" be in favor of the team installing curtains at the stadium to prevent such an issue in the future.

However, team owner Jerry Jones wasn't as enthused about the idea.

"Well, let's just tear the damn stadium down and build another one? You kidding me?" he responded when asked about the idea of curtains, per ESPN's Todd Archer.

He also said during an appearance on 105.3 the Fan that curtains were "way down the list of improvement" for the stadium.

Now the roof is apparently another issue at the stadium, and things did not go according to plan for opening it ahead of Monday's contest.

This comes after the Cowboys lost four consecutive games and quarterback Dak Prescott for the season because of a hamstring injury. The playoffs are a long shot at best for the 3-6 club, and now there is yet another thing that went wrong for Jones and Co. ahead of what figures to be a challenging game against the Texans.
