NBA Rumors: Tacko Fall Joins New Zealand Team; Viral Star Drafted by Celtics in 2019
Tacko Fall, a fan favorite during his brief NBA career, has officially signed with the New Zealand Breakers for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, according to ESPN's Olgun Uluc.
The 28-year-old—who appeared in 37 career NBA games for the Boston Celtics (2019-20 to 2020-21) and Cleveland Cavaliers (2021-22), averaging 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game—has been recovering from a quad injury that kept him out of the Breakers' three preseason games against NBA teams. He was initially signed to take part in that tour.
He's been rehabilitating his injury in New Zealand, keeping him around the team's playing group, but he has yet to feature for the 7-3 Breakers. Uluc noted that the 7'6" Fall is expected to be available "relatively soon."
His most recent signing corresponded with the team's release of Freddie Gillespie.
