Video: Cowboys' Trey Lance Fined for Illegal Use of Helmet in Loss to Eagles
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Trey Lance was fined $22,511 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness during Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.
Lance went helmet-first to push Eagles safety Reed Blankenship out of bounds after a Jake Ferguson fumble in the fourth quarter. He did not receive a penalty on the play.

Lance played just 15 snaps in the Cowboys' 34-6 loss.
The NFL has been cracking down on unnecessary roughness fines involving use of the helmet this season. Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was hit with a $66,666 fine for a similar infraction in Week 4.
He stepped in for Cooper Rush in the second half and finished the game having gone 4-of-6 for 21 yards and an interception.
Lance could continue functioning as the backup to Rush for the rest of the season after Dak Prescott underwent season-ending hamstring surgery on Wednesday.
Prescott suffered the hamstring injury during the Cowboys' Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, which marked Dallas' fifth loss of the season.
The Cowboys fell to 3-6 with last Sunday's loss, during which Rush went 13-of-23 for 45 yards and was eventually benched in favor of Lance.
Rush is the more experienced backup, having started five games in 2022 when Prescott was sidelined with a broken thumb. But should Rush continue to struggle down the stretch, Lance could potentially get his first start since a Sept. 18, 2022 game for the San Francisco 49ers.
The Cowboys also signed Will Grier to the team's practice squad to serve as the third-string option behind Rush and Lance.
Dallas sent a fourth-round pick in order to acquire Lance from the 49ers ahead of the 2023 season. His 15 snaps on Monday marked his first NFL action for the former No. 3 pick since the trade.
He will continue to serve as backup as the Cowboys prepare to face the Houston Texans on Monday at home.
