Week 11 Waiver Wire: Late Targets to Replace Fantasy Players on Injury List

Nov 16, 2024

New breakout players can emerge in fantasy football at any point in a season. Even though the playoffs are only a few weeks away in the majority of leagues, key pickups can still occur from the waiver wire throughout the rest of the year.

Heading into Week 11 of the 2024 NFL campaign, some fantasy managers still have rosters that are quite banged up. There have been plenty of players to go down with injuries this season, and some are dealing with ailments again this week.

Need some late advice for potential replacement players who should be available on waivers? Here's a look at some late additions to target.

Audric Estime, RB, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said earlier this week that rookie running back Audric Estime will continue to get more reps moving forward. That's positive news for fantasy football managers, because the 21-year-old is available in plenty of leagues at the moment.

Estime set career highs in carries (14) and yards (53) last week during the Broncos' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He now could have a chance to solidify a spot as the No. 1 RB in the offense, with both Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin underperforming this season.

In Week 11, Denver will host the Atlanta Falcons, who have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to running backs in the league over the past four weeks (per NFL.com). So it could be an opportunity for Estime to build on his recent positive momentum.

But Estime could also be a good long-term pickup, should he start to put up bigger numbers. At this point, it seems like the opportunities will be there for him to get that chance.

Ricky Pearsall, WR, San Francisco 49ers

The start of Ricky Pearsall's rookie campaign was delayed after the 24-year-old was shot in the chest prior to the start of the season. But he has since gotten into the action, and the Florida product is emerging as a top playmaker for the San Francisco 49ers.

Pearsall scored his first NFL touchdown in his third career game last week, when he recorded four catches for 73 yards and a score in the 49ers' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was also targeted a season-high six times.

San Francisco's receiving corps has been banged up, so it has needed players to emerge as top pass-catching options. It appears Pearsall could now be doing just that.

The 49ers are set to host the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC West matchup in Week 11. There could be plenty of offense on both sides, and it wouldn't be surprising if Pearsall takes another step forward and puts together another solid showing.

Jonnu Smith, TE, Miami Dolphins

Need a matchup play to stream at tight end this week? Look no further than Miami's Jonnu Smith, who has been involved in the Dolphins' offense in recent weeks and could put together a big performance in Week 11.

Miami is set to host the Las Vegas Raiders, who are giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends in the league (per NFL.com). It should be a prime opportunity for the Dolphins to rack up some offense, with Smith likely to be a focal point of the game plan.

Smith has received six-plus targets in four of his past five games. The 29-year-old has also recorded 45-plus receiving yards four times during that span.

It wouldn't be surprising if Smith gets into the end zone for the second time this season during Sunday's game vs. the Raiders, which makes him a strong streaming candidate.
