Kiyan, a 4-star prospect, is considered the No. 6 shooting guard and No. 1 player from New York in the 2025 recruiting class (via 247Sports' Composite rankings). His final list of schools consisted of Auburn and USC in addition to Syracuse.

He also received offers from Dayton, Florida State, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State and Rutgers.

Kiyan visited the Seminoles' campus in Oct. 2023 and traveled to USC on Sept. 26, but he revealed that his relationship with Syracuse head coach Adrian Autry's staff influenced his final decision.

"Ultimately, it came down to my relationship with the staff," Kiyan said, per ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi. "From day one, when they started recruiting me, they made me feel like it was family. My dad's name on the facility is special, but I want to go in there and create my own name, and I've already done that through my dedication in the offseason, with early-morning practices, playing at camps, playing on the circuit."

The 17-year-old was impressive throughout the Nike EYBL circuit in April and May. He averaged 19.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.8 minutes per game.

The elder Anthony's legacy with Syracuse is well-known, winning the 2003 NCAA Tournament in his freshman season with the Orange before he was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft.

As for Kiyan, he should form an intriguing duo with forward Sadiq White Jr. once he suits up for Syracuse. White, the No. 8 power forward in the 2025 class, has already committed to the Orange.
