Video: Mike Tyson Slaps Jake Paul at Weigh-In Ahead of Netflix Boxing Fight

Things are heating up ahead of Mike Tyson's fight with Jake Paul on Friday.

As the two boxers stared each other down at their weight-in on Thursday, Tyson slapped Paul in the face. He was held back by his team as Paul taunted him on the stage.

Paul didn't take the slap lightly as after Tyson left the stage he said the fight was "personal now" and that "[Tyson] must die," per USA Today's Jon Hoefling and Gabe Zaldivar.

He later called getting slapped by Tyson a "pinch me moment."

The decision by Tyson to start the fight prematurely makes things even more interesting after months of anticipation. The two were originally supposed to fight in July, but the match got pushed to November after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up in May.

Tyson hasn't boxed professionally since 2005 and his last exhibition fight was in 2020, but he's looking to prove he's still got it at 58 years old. Tyson looked as prepared as ever during an open workout on Tuesday.

Paul, who is more than two decades younger than Tyson, is looking to prove himself with a signature win over Tyson. Since making his boxing debut in 2020, he has a 10-1 record and has won four straight, his latest victory coming against Mike Perry via TKO in July.

The fight will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday and will air live on Netflix.

From a hype perspective, it should be one of the biggest fights of the year and both Tyson and Paul will be looking to make a statement.
