Schefter: Deion Sanders, Shedeur Going to NFL Together an Option That Could 'Heat Up'

Doric SamNov 14, 2024

With Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders set to be one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL draft, many are wondering if his father and head coach Deion Sanders would follow him in his jump to the pros.

During Thursday's episode of Get Up, ESPN's Adam Schefter said that Coach Prime landing with the same NFL team as his son is far from guaranteed, but it's also not out of the realm of possibility.

"We're not saying it's happening. We're saying that this is one of those options that's going to heat up, that's going to be in play this offseason," Schefter said. "Is there a team out there that's in position to get Shedeur Sanders that also wants to go and hire Deion Sanders to marry them up together moving forward? Maybe it'll happen, maybe it won't. It's damn fun to talk about and think about."

B/R NFL scout Dame Parson ranks Shedeur Sanders as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 draft class. The youngster has thrown for 2,882 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 72.9 percent of his passes this season.

While Deion Sanders has maintained that he has no interest in leaving Colorado, it wouldn't be a surprise if he accepted the opportunity to coach in the NFL. He already made it clear that he will intervene behind the scenes to ensure that Shedeur doesn't land with the "wrong" franchise.

The 22-year-old has a bright future in the NFL, and it remains to be seen if his Hall of Fame dad will be a part of it.
