Kirk Cousins Picks Mike Tyson to Defeat Jake Paul Ahead of Netflix Boxing Fight
Sports fans who were anxiously waiting on boxing predictions from the Atlanta Falcons quarterback no longer have to wait.
After all, Kirk Cousins believes Mike Tyson will defeat Jake Paul in Friday's fight.
"He might not be as good as he once was, but he just has to be good once," Cousins told ESPN's Marc Raimondi on Wednesday.
Tyson and Paul will face each other Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in a fight that will be broadcast live on Netflix. There will be eight rounds instead of the usual 10 or 12, and each one will last for two minutes instead of the typical three minutes.
There was a time when anyone getting in the ring with Tyson, let alone a former YouTube star, would have been a terrifying proposition.
Iron Mike was one of the most powerful boxers in the sport's history and has 44 knockouts in 50 career victories. As Cousins suggested, all he needs is to land one powerful punch to alter the trajectory of a fight.
However, he is 58 years old at this point. By comparison, Paul is just 27 and figures to have quite the speed advantage when they face each other on Friday.
Perhaps Tyson's power will be enough to overcome that. Cousins certainly thinks so.
