Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Calls Home Burglary 'Frustrating' and 'Disappointing'

Julia StumbaughNov 13, 2024

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said it was "frustrating" and "disappointing" to allegedly have his home broken into in early October.

"I can't get into too many of the details because the investigation is still ongoing," Mahomes said Wednesday, per KCTV's Greg Dailey. "Obviously something you don't want happening to really anybody, but obviously yourself."

KCTV's Dailey and Heidi Schmidt reported that police responded to a break-in report at Mahomes' house in Loch Lloyd, Cass County, after midnight on Oct. 6. According to KSHB 41, an initial report stated that there were no signs of forced entry.

The alleged incident took place the night before the Chiefs' Week 5 home win over the New Orleans Saints, which was followed by the team's Week 6 bye.

Mahomes did not answer whether he or his family were home at the time of the report, but answered that he was "sure at some point that will be talked about."

According to the KCTV reporters, a burglary call was also reported on Oct. 8 from a Leawood address previously reported as belonging to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. This incident has not been confirmed by police, Dailey noted.

A Leawood police document obtained by KSHB 41 reportedly listed $1,000 in damage to a door and $20,000 in missing cash connected to the second robbery.

TMZ reported on Tuesday that the FBI is assisting both the Cass County and Leawood police with ongoing investigations into the alleged incidents.
