Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Purse: Known Prize Money Payout Distribution

Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson by unanimous decision on Friday evening in a highly anticipated matchup between the former undisputed world heavyweight champion and the social media star-turned-professional boxer.

Paul was victorious by scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 in a fight that went the distance but was not filled with many fireworks.

This was obviously an intriguing matchup given Tyson's resume, Paul's boxing success and the 31-year age gap between the 58-year-old Tyson and 27-year-old Paul.

Naturally, a lot of money is flowing their way given the interest in the Netflix fight.

The official purse has not been officially disclosed, but Paul said in an August pre-fight press conference that he was "here to make $40 million and knock out a legend," per Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.

It's not clear how much Tyson is making, but the $20 million figure has been floated around.

"Boxing industry experts have estimated Tyson could make somewhere in the range of $20 million at various times since the event was announced last March," Mark Giannotto of USA Today wrote on Oct. 31.

This match was essentially a glorified exhibition, with the two fighters using 14-ounce gloves (instead of the usual 10-ounce ones). Rounds were also two minutes apiece instead of three.

But it was certainly a marvel to watch Tyson, at one time a superstar boxer and the baddest man on the planet, take on Paul, who's impressed in the ring. And the money clearly flowed their way with many eyes tuned to AT&T Stadium for the big fight.
