Kiyan Anthony to Announce Choice Between USC, Syracuse CBB on Carmelo's Podcast

Mike ChiariNov 12, 2024

The return of Carmelo Anthony's popular podcast 7PM in Brooklyn is set for Nov. 15, and it will be headlined by his son, Kiyan Anthony, making his college decision.

Both Wave Sports + Entertainment and Creative 7 announced the news Tuesday, noting that the premiere episode of Season 2 will be a "special Anthony family episode."

Earlier this month, Kiyan told On3's Joe Tipton that he would announce his collegiate decision between USC, Syracuse and Auburn on Nov. 15:

The 247Sports composite rankings rate Anthony as a 4-star prospect, as well as the No. 32 overall recruit, No. 6 shooting guard and No. 1 player from the state of New York in the 2025 recruiting class.

Kiyan, who stars at Long Island Lutheran High School in Glen Head, New York, could potentially follow in the footsteps of his father, who played collegiately at Syracuse.

Melo spent only one season at Cuse, but it was a memorable one, as he was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player en route to the Orange winning the 2003 NCAA national championship.

He went on to enjoy a Hall-of-Fame-worthy NBA career, spending 19 years in the league primarily with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks, and earning 10 All-Star selections and one scoring title.

Aside from Kiyan's impending announcement, Melo gave his thoughts on the impending return of 7PM in Brooklyn as a whole, saying:

"7PM in Brooklyn has always been a space where authentic conversations meet the heart of basketball and culture, and I'm excited for fans to experience the fresh immersive journey we've created this season. In Season 2, we're raising the bar even higher, building on the momentum from the first season while introducing new voices and perspectives. This season is set to deliver dynamic, insightful conversations that fans won't find anywhere else!"

Along with Kiyan, former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson and former NBA guard Iman Shumpert were announced as upcoming guests for Season 2.

It was also announced that Melo will be joined by a rotating cast of guest hosts, including former NBA forward Rudy Gay and media personalities Monica McNutt and Kazeem Famuyide.
