Video: Lakers' LeBron James Says Fan Told Him He Needed 1 Rebound for Triple Double

Zach BacharNov 11, 2024

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James secured his third triple-double of the 2024-25 season with the help of a fan on Sunday night.

When speaking to reporters after the Lakers' 123-103 win over the Toronto Raptors, James revealed that a fan got his attention and reminded him that he needed one more rebound to achieve the feat.

"He definitely yelled at me, he got my attention," James explained (h/t TMZ Sports). "He said, 'One more rebound!' I was like, 'What?' He was like, 'One more!' So, I got one more and I pointed at him to acknowledge that I was listening."

The four-time MVP finished with 19 points and 16 assists in addition to his 10 rebounds, shooting 6-14 from the field and connecting on all seven of his free throws.

James is no stranger to reaching double-digit totals in points, assists and rebounds in the same game. The 39-year-old has 115 triple-doubles under his belt throughout his career, the fifth-most in NBA history (via Basketball Reference).

Even though the Lakers have gone 3-4 since opening the regular season with a 3-0 record, James has continue to play at an elite level during his 22nd year in the association. He's averaging 23.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game on 51.5/44.4/81.6 shooting splits.

After registering a triple-double in each of his past two games, the NBA's all-time leading scorer will look to extend the streak during Los Angeles' next contest against the Memphis Grizzlies. Tip-off is on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.
