Cowboys' Dak Prescott Discusses Hamstring Injury, Possible Recovery Timetable

Taylyn HadleyNov 10, 2024

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott addressed the locker room following the team's 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, informing them that he would be flying to New York on Monday to see a specialist for his hamstring injury, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.

The specialist may recommend surgery for Prescott, which would require a three-month recovery and effectively end his season. If surgery is not needed, he faces a minimum timeline of 6-8 weeks on the sideline.

If Prescott went the surgery-route, it would lessen the chance for re-injury in the future.

Prescott signed a new contract before the 2024 season worth $240 million through 2028, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury at the end of the third quarter in the Cowboys' 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons during Week 9.

Following the injury, Prescott told reporters, "It's something I've never felt," according to USA Today's Lorenzo Reyes.
