Video: Patrick Beverley Says 'A Few' NBA Teams Have Reached Out About Contract

Andrew PetersNov 6, 2024

Amid his first season with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC of the Israeli Premier League, Patrick Beverley revealed he's received interest from NBA teams.

On the Pat Bev Pod, Beverley said "a few" NBA teams have recently contacted him, though he couldn't clarify which ones. He also said he's been eyed by a handful of EuroLeague teams.

"People are asking me, 'Ayo Pat, what you going to do?' Because you know, some NBA teams called," he said. "They told me I can't say who. EuroLeague teams called, Real Madrid called, couple other EuroLeague teams out there to see like, are you guys blowing it up? What's going on?"

Beverley said he began questioning his future with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC when Johnathan Motley left the team to join Crvena Zvezda of the Serbian SuperLiga. He said one of the reasons he left the NBA was to play alongside Motley, who was his teammate for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Beverley signed a deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC ahead of the 2024-25 season worth "approximately" $2 million with a $1 million bonus included if the team wins the EuroCup and qualifies for EuroLeague, per Sportando.

In his last NBA season in 2023-24, Beverley spent the first part of the year with the Philadelphia 76ers before finishing out the season with the Milwaukee Bucks. He had decent numbers, putting up 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game off the bench.

While Beverley might not be a huge difference-maker if he joins an NBA team, he could still provide a defensive spark off the bench and a veteran presence that is welcome in any locker room.

It seems he's now going to spend some time contemplating what his next career move will be.
