Week 10 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet: Identifying Sleepers for Deep Leagues

Kristopher KnoxNov 7, 2024

The halfway point of the 2024 NFL season has passed, which means fantasy managers are staring down the difficult postseason push. In the coming weeks, lineup decisions will be critical.

Unfortunately, managers are unlikely to have their top options available every week. Byes are still a thing, and four teams will be out of action in Week 10.

The Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders and Seattle Seahawks will be off this week. Managers may need to find replacements for players like David Njoku, Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs, Brock Bowers, DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III.

Here, you'll find a look at some potential sleepers for Week 10 who might be available on the waiver wire, along with updated point-per-reception (PPR) flex rankings.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert hasn't regularly produced eye-popping fantasy numbers. However, he's been quite serviceable over the past couple of weeks and should fare well with Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston both healthy.

Herbert topped 200 passing yards and threw two touchdown passes in each of his past two games. He's also brought some bonus value thanks to his scrambling ability.

Against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9, Herbert tallied 282 passing yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers. He had 279 yards, two scores and 49 rushing yards the previous week, again with no turnovers.

This week, the Chargers will host the Tennessee Titans. While Tennessee has fielded a solid defense in 2024, it hasn't been entirely unfriendly to opposing quarterbacks. The Titans have allowed the 13th-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs.

Herbert is still available in over 50 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues. Other QBs to consider on the wire this week include:

  • Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets
  • Daniel Jones, New York Giants
  • Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers

Tyler Allgeier, RB, Atlanta Falcons and Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier
Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier

Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier remains a top pickup to consider on the waiver wire. He had just 18 rushing yards in Week 9 but did find the end zone. He's a quality handcuff for Bijan Robinson and carries mid-level flex value in the right matchups.

This week, Allgeier will be up against a New Orleans Saints defense that has surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing RBs. While Allgeier is still a boom-or-bust candidate this week, there just aren't many surefire stars available on the waiver wire halfway through the season.

Allgeier is rostered in 39 percent of Yahoo leagues and 49 percent of ESPN leagues. Other RBs who may be available include:

  • Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Ray Davis, Buffalo Bills
  • Justice Hill, Baltimore Ravens

At wide receiver, Johnston is worth targeting. While McConkey is more of a reliable go-to target for Herbert and carries a higher PPR floor, Johnston has proven himself quite capable of delivering strong performances.

The second-year receiver caught four passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in Week 9. Surprisingly, he's still available in more than 75 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues.

Week 10 won't provide the most enticing of matchups, as the Titans have surrendered the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. However, Johnston is unlikely to draw a blank, and he has a lot of upside moving forward.

Other receivers to consider on the wire include:

  • Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers
  • Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers
  • Demarcus Robinson, Los Angeles Rams

It's typically hard to find viable starting tight ends on the waiver wire, and often not worth the effort. Managers often roster two tight ends in order to navigate the top options' bye week.

With Njoku, Bowers and Tucker Kraft all on bye this week, however, it's worth diving into the potentially available options.

This week's top target should be Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki. He's thrived over the last two weeks with Tee Higgins sidelined (12 combined catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns), and rookie tight end Erick All Jr. is out for the year with a torn ACL.

The status of Higgins (quad) remains uncertain, but it's hard to see him having a substantial impact on a short week. The Baltimore Ravens, meanwhile, have allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Gesicki, who is rostered in less than 20 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues, is worth starting consideration.

Other TEs to consider on the wire include:

  • Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints
  • Jonnu Smith, Miami Dolphins
  • Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
