Chiefs Rumors: WR Trade Possible at NFL Deadline Despite DeAndre Hopkins Deal
Although they have already made two trades since last week, the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly may not be done ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Chiefs would potentially welcome another trade for a wide receiver if one "falls into their laps." Also, Chiefs defensive coordinator has reportedly expressed a desire for general manager Brett Veach to get him a "young, fast" cornerback.
The Chiefs acquired veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans last week and followed that up with a trade with the New England Patriots for pass-rusher Josh Uche this week.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Despite being the reigning, back-to-back Super Bowl champions and the last remaining undefeated team this season at 7-0, the Chiefs have been far from perfect.
Wide receiver has been an especially big issue with both Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown being lost for the season, and Skyy Moore recently landing on injured reserve as well.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes' play has suffered as a result of having limited options he can trust in the passing game. He is trending toward the worst statistical season of his career by far, throwing for 1,651 yards, eight touchdowns and a league-high nine interceptions.
Mahomes' numbers left something to be desired last season as well when he threw for 4,183 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 picks, but he turned it on in the playoffs, led the Chiefs to another championship and was named Super Bowl MVP.
He may be able to do it again this season, although the front office would be wise to surround him with as much talent as possible to make it happen.
Hopkins is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time First Team All-Pro, and he finished last season with 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns despite primarily playing with a rookie quarterback in Will Levis.
So far this season, Hopkins has just 17 catches for 202 yards and one score, and while he could turn things around with Mahomes as his quarterback, it is also fair to wonder if he is hitting the downside of his career.
If that is the case, the Chiefs would benefit from adding another wideout to go along with Hopkins, rookie first-round pick Xavier Worthy and veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster when he returns from a hamstring injury.
Aside from that, cornerback is a clear need for the Chiefs as well on the heels of Jaylen Watkins being lost for the remainder of the season due to a broken leg.
KC still has a top corner in Trent McDuffie, but there are question marks elsewhere with Joshua Williams, Nazeeh Johnson and Keith Taylor in prominent roles.
Even so, the Chiefs rank fifth in the NFL in both total defense and scoring defense this season after ranking second in both categories last season.
Defense has been the Chiefs' strength over the past two seasons, and while Spagnuolo has shown the ability to make it work with what he has, giving him additional depth at corner would make the Kansas City defense even more dangerous.
