NFL Rumors: Garrett Wilson, D.J. Reed Not Expected to Be Traded by Jets at Deadline
After giving themselves some hope of salvaging this season with a 21-13 win over the Houston Texans on Thursday night, the New York Jets don't seem inclined to make any drastic moves that would take talent off their roster before the trade deadline.
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Jets aren't expected to move Garrett Wilson or D.J. Reed even though teams have called about the availability of both players.
Any talk of Wilson getting traded never made sense given his age and high level of performance, despite having mediocre quarterback talent around him before Aaron Rodgers took over.

That didn't stop teams from calling the Jets to inquire about Wilson's availability after New York acquired Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.
If there was any chance of Wilson getting traded before, it probably ended when he made arguably the best touchdown catch of the season against the Texans to remind everyone he's a special talent who is only 24 years old.
Trading Reed would be much easier to explain because he is in the final season of his contract. It seems unlikely he will be back next season with Sauce Gardner making it clear he's looking to set a new standard for cornerback contracts when he becomes eligible for an extension in the offseason.
Entering Week 9, Reed was Pro Football Focus' top-ranked cornerback this season. He did struggle in the previous two games before Thursday night, allowing eight receptions for 93 yards and five first downs.
The Jets could potentially get a solid return for Reed, but they can't justify selling with the roster they have constructed. They already acquired Adams and made a change at head coach because of their desperation to salvage this season.
Even though the Jets are only 3-6 after beating the Texans, they could end the weekend just two games out of a wild card spot in the AFC depending on how things play out. They have winnable games against the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts in the next two weeks before their bye in Week 12.
