Warriors' Stephen Curry to Return from Ankle Injury vs. Wizards After Missing 3 Games

Paul KasabianNov 4, 2024

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters Stephen Curry will be back in the lineup for Monday's game against the Washington Wizards.

Curry hasn't played since Oct. 27 because of a left peroneal strain (ankle), missing three games.

The Warriors offered an encouraging Nov. 1 update on his status, stating at the time: "The re-evaluation indicated that Curry is making good progress and, as a result, he has been cleared to return to segments of the team's practice tonight in Houston."

Over his first three games, Curry has averaged 18.3 points, 6.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 26.3 minutes per game, shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from three. Golden State blew out the Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz by a combined 77 points in its first two games, so Curry has played less than usual.

Obviously, the Warriors need a healthy Curry to make a postseason run, but Golden State does sport one of the NBA's deepest teams this year.

The Warriors have the guards to tread water when their leader is sidelined, including Brandin Podziemski and Lindy Waters III. Podziemski is the lead guard with the four-time champion and two-time NBA MVP.

Now, though, Curry is set to make his return.
