Anthony Richardson, Dak Prescott Headline Madden 24 Week 8 Player Ratings Update

Joseph ZuckerOct 31, 2024

The developers for Madden NFL 25 took note when Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson briefly subbed himself out of his team's 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 8.

Richardson's overall rating fell from 72 to 71 in the newest update. The drop is partially attributable to him losing two points in awareness (61) and four points in stamina (73).

The second-year signal-caller drew some scorn when he told his coaches he needed a breather because he was "tired." A hit to his stamina rating in Madden feels appropriate.

The good news for Richardson is that his Madden ratings should stabilize in Week 9. The bad news is that's because he got benched by the Colts for Joe Flacco.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who had an overall rating of 90 at Madden's launch, is now down to 88 overall. That's after he went 25-of-38 for 243 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 30-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (89 overall), linebacker Eric Kendricks (77 overall), safety Markquese Bell (76 overall) and right tackle Terence Steele (74 overall) all lost one point as well in the wake of the defeat.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, meanwhile, overtook the Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow as the third-highest-rated player at the position. Allen and Burrow are rated at 94 and 93 respectively.

Allen threw for 283 yards, two touchdowns and one interception as the Bills improved to 6-2. The Bengals were outclassed by the Philadelphia Eagles as they slipped to 3-5, with Burrow going for 234 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Pittsburgh Steelers free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is now tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Antoine Winfield Jr. for the second-highest mark (94 overall) at their position. Fitzpatrick got boosts in awareness, pursuit, play recognition and man coverage.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is inching toward a perfect Madden rating. Thanks to his catching, spectacular catch and catch in traffic marks improving, he's up to 98 overall.

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II is within striking distance of the 99 club too. Having started at 95 overall, he has moved to 97 and owns a perfect rating in strength after gaining two points.
