NFL Rumors: Raiders Wanted Mike Williams Included in Davante Adams Trade with Jets
The Las Vegas Raiders wanted the New York Jets to include wide receiver Mike Williams in Gang Green's trade for Davante Adams. However, New York wouldn't budge on that request, ultimately sending a conditional 2025 third-round pick to Las Vegas.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that news on The Rich Eisen Show (9:10 mark).

Steelers Owner Gives Rodgers Update
Williams was bumped down the Jets' wideout depth chart with Adams now in town and Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard still around.
Williams signed a one-year, $10 million contract in free agency last offseason. But this has been a quiet year for the ex-Los Angeles Charger, who has just 11 catches for 160 yards and no touchdowns in his return year from a torn ACL suffered in September 2023.
With the Jets struggling, New York acquired Adams in hopes of jumpstarting the offense in a reunion with old Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers.
That in turn naturally bumped Williams down the depth chart, so it's interesting that the Jets weren't willing to part with him in that instance. However, the Jets very well could send Williams to another team in a separate trade. They also ended up getting Adams anyway, so it isn't as if including Williams was a dealbreaker.
But it's not working out for Williams in New York. The Jets also can't get anything going themselves, with the team on life support at 2-6. The promising offense has sputtered, with New York averaging just 18.8 points per game (25th in the NFL).
At this juncture, the Jets are almost at the point to where they are playing out the string. It's possible New York goes on a tremendous second-half run and fights for the playoffs, but right now they are already three games out of the AFC wild card picture.
It ultimately behooves the Jets to trade Williams somewhere at this point in hopes of getting a draft pick and rebuilding for the future. We'll find out soon enough if that happens with the trade deadline looming on Nov. 5.
