Led by Wilson's performance, the Steelers improved to 6-2 on the season, while the Giants dropped to 2-6, extending their losing streak to three straight games.
Wilson completed 20-of-28 passes for 278 yards, with one touchdown and one fumble. Wide receiver Calvin Austin III contributed with three receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, Jones completed 24-of-38 passes for 264 yards, with one interception and one fumble.
According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, those close to the Steelers' organization believed Tomlin's decision to stray away from Fields was not the right one.
"Most folks in that building thought Justin Fields gave them the best chance to win. They still probably do," Breer wrote. "The problem was that if the Steelers stuck with Fields, that might've been it for Wilson as a Steeler."
Those who didn't believe Wilson could still deliver vintage Seattle performances are surely changing their minds after tonight's win.
Fans flooded social media after the game to celebrate Wilson and Tomlin, as the two have led the team to a three-game win streak.
The Steelers enter a bye week but will prepare to extend their win streak to four against the Washington Commanders on the road in Week 10.
