Daniels' successful Hail Mary is already a candidate for the play of the year. The rookie quarterback scrambled around for nearly 13 seconds before heaving the ball toward the endzone. After being tipped up by a Bears defender, Brown came down with it
Daniels finished Sunday's matchup with 326 passing yards and a touchdown along with 52 yards on the ground, continuing what has been an outstanding start to his career.
The No. 2 overall pick has 1,736 passing yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions along with 424 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in eight games, though he played just a few snaps against the Carolina Panthers last week.
His strong play has made him an early favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
What's more, Daniels and the Commanders are winning games. Washington is 6-2 for the first time since 2008 after Sunday's win and has already eclipsed its win total from a year ago.
Behind Daniels' phenomenal rookie year, the Commanders seem well on their way to their first playoff appearance since 2020.
