Haason Reddick Calls Out Bill Belichick for Jets Criticism After Patriots Loss

Haason Reddick wasn't a fan of Bill Belichick's criticism after the New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Belichick called out the Jets and Reddick specifically on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday.

"Just a lot of mistakes by the Jets," he said. "... Reddick came in the game and just ran past the quarterback multiple times."

Belichick's comments prompted Reddick to respond on social media.

"Aye someone call Bill Belichick and give him a job," he wrote. "Seems like he's home bored and can't keep me out of his mouth. Come up for air why don't ya."

In Belichick's defense, Reddick was a bit of a nonfactor in the loss, failing to register a single tackle in 26 defensive snaps. It was his season debut, though, so he may need some time to get adjusted.

Last week, the two-time Pro Bowler ended an extensive holdout and agreed to an adjusted contract with the Jets. He was traded to New York from the Philadelphia Eagles in April and made an initial media appearance but then failed to report to the team the entire summer, before finally doing so last week.

After the loss, the 30-year-old was coy about his lengthy absence.

"As of right now, I have nothing to say as far as the holdout," Reddick told reporters. "The only thing that I'm worried about right now is what can I do to be better, what can I do to get myself fully up to speed."

The Jets hoped the addition of Davante Adams and Reddick's season debut would be a recipe for a win, but New York instead dropped to 2-6 with its fifth straight loss, and its playoff hopes continue to dwindle.

Perhaps Belichick's comments about Reddick will serve as motivation as he looks to return to All-Pro form.
