Tua Tagovailoa, Russell Wilson, Top Fantasy Waiver-Wire QBs After Jordan Love Injury
Jordan Love has once again been hit by the injury bug.
The Green Bay Packers star quarterback suffered a groin injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. He had completed 14 of his 22 passes for 196 yards and an interception before leaving the game with an injury.
In his five games leading up to Sunday's contest, Love had 1,351 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
While his timeline has not yet been determined, fantasy managers will likely be looking for a replacement for Love. Here are a few options that could be worth adding to your roster.
Tua Tagovailoa

Many fantasy managers likely parted ways with Tua Tagovailoa after a scary concussion that landed him on the injured reserve, but the Miami Dolphins quarterback is back on the field and looking to put together a strong second half of the season.
In his first game of the year, Tagovailoa had 338 passing yards and a touchdown in a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He struggled in Week 2 with 145 yards and three interceptions, but that was an uncharacteristic game from the fifth-year player.
Tagovailoa's value to the Dolphins became evident in his absence. Miami won just one of its four games without him on the field and its offense struggled—just ask fantasy managers of Tyreek Hill.
In his first game back on Sunday, Tagovailoa threw for 234 passing yards and a touchdown, though Miami couldn't get a win against the Arizona Cardinals.
While Tagovailoa's return won't solve all of the Dolphins' problems, they will at least get some of their offense back after weeks of struggle. They had 27 points on Sunday, their most so far this season.
Tagovailoa has one of the best receivers in the NFL in Hill, meaning he will be good for a decent number of fantasy points every week and could be a valuable addition for managers needing to replace Love.
Russell Wilson

Like Tagovailoa, Wilson should be widely available in most fantasy leagues after spending the first few weeks of the season on the sideline.
In his Steelers' debut last week, Wilson was electric with 264 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns against the New York Jets. A performance like that might not come every week, but Wilson is at least reliable enough to throw a touchdown or two and limit interceptions.
Pittsburgh also has a few matchups that will be favorable for Wilson in the coming weeks as it takes on the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens over the next two weeks.
The Commanders have allowed 1,486 passing yards and 12 passing touchdowns this season. The Ravens have given up the most passing yards in the league with 2,159 while allowing 14 touchdowns.
Unless those two teams turn things around on defense soon, Wilson should be able to put up big numbers, making him a solid pickup in fantasy.
Justin Herbert
3 of 3
Justin Herbert's rough start to the season could have led fantasy managers to stay away from him, but the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback is now finding his stride and could be a strong replacement for Love.
Herbert, who threw for less than 200 passing yards in his first four games of the season, had 237 passing yards and a touchdown in Week 6 before throwing for 349 passing yards last week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Another stat worth noting for Herbert is that he's only thrown one interception up to this point. Taking care of the ball means more receptions and more touchdowns, which of course leads to plenty of fantasy points.
With no true WR1, picking up Herbert is more of a risk than Tagovailoa or Wilson, but his play over the past few weeks is hard to look past and he could be worth adding to your roster, at least until Love is back on the field.
