Baron Davis Reveals JJ Redick was Watching Film at Car Wash: 'Lakers in Great Hands'

Taylyn HadleyOct 26, 2024

Former NBA point guard Baron Davis shared on social media that he ran into JJ Redick at a car wash, where he spotted the Los Angeles Lakers head coach reviewing game film on his laptop.

Davis called Redick, in his first year as head coach, a "players' coach" and added that the "Lakers are in great hands," ending with the hashtag "#dedication."

Redick has been receiving considerable acclaim from NBA fans for introducing a fresh perspective to the Lakers franchise as they kick off the season with a 2-0 record.

Following the Lakers' 123-116 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, Anthony Davis praised Redick for holding down the team after facing a considerable 48-26 deficit.

"J coming into the huddle, halftime, just telling us, 'We're alright. Settle down. We know what we're doing wrong. Turnovers. Transition. We're getting good looks, just chip away; we're not going to get all that back at once,'" Davis said in a post-game interview. "So, him not panicking, obviously, made us not panic, and we were able to walk them down and eventually take the lead."

Redick, the Lakers' fourth head coach in a decade, has helped get the Lakers off to its first 2-0 start since the 2010-2011 season that was led by head coach Phil Jackson and NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers will look to extend their perfect start on Saturday against the Sacramento Kings at home.
