That doesn't come as a huge surprise after Adams crashed Rodgers' weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday:
The Jets traded a conditional 2025 third-round pick that could become a second-rounder if Adams ends the 2024 season as either a first- or second-team All-Pro selection, or if he's on the active roster for either the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl.
That reunited Adams and Rodgers, who played together on the Green Bay Packers between the 2014-21 seasons. During that time, Adams was a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro selection, registering over 1,000 receiving yards three times, over 100 receptions three times and double-digit touchdowns five times.
Granted, Adams is now 31 and Rodgers is 40—neither player is in their prime at this stage in their respective careers. The Jets also have several mouths to feed on offense, including Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall and long-time Rodgers' favorite, Allen Lazard.
But Adams is going to receive his fair share of targets.
"Their connection and their chemistry between the two of those guys is just so unique," interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters on Wednesday. "They spent so much time together for one, but for two, they're both high football IQ guys that really can take their connection to another space."
Rodgers was excited to be reunited with Adams.
"He's a phenomenal player and a dear friend," he told McAfee, adding: "He's made me look good a lot of times. So, I'm really excited about it. I think it's exciting for our team. We definitely got better today."
