WWE Reportedly Planning Blockbuster Triple Threat at WrestleMania 41

Despite some conflicting reports, WWE is reporting making major plans for The Rock at WrestleMania 41 next year.

According to WrestleVotes (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), WWE working plan is for The Rock, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns to face each other in the likely main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania 41.

WrestleVotes added that all three Superstars are on board with the idea, which makes sense given what occurred at Bad Blood.

The Rock had not been seen since Raw the night after WrestleMania 40 in April, but after Rhodes and Reigns formed a reluctant alliance to beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu a couple of weeks ago at Bad Blood, The Final Boss made his return.

He didn't say anything, but The Rock signaled "1, 2, 3" with his hand before making a throat-slashing motion while staring down Rhodes and Reigns from the top of the stage.

Despite his appearance at Bad Blood, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlePurists) reported last week that The Rock had told people within WWE he would not be able to take part in WrestleMania 41.

However, in response to an Instagram comment about him not working WrestleMania 41 (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), The Rock replied, "Don't believe any of that bulls--t."

Meltzer (h/t Mukherjee) later walked back his previous report to some degree, saying that if The Rock "wants to do it, he's doing it," in reference to WrestleMania before noting that WWE wants a definitive answer by Royal Rumble.

Given The Rock's involvement in WrestleMania 40 and the manner in which he returned at Bad Blood, it is difficult to envision him not being factored into some significant plans for WrestleMania 41.

WWE Possibly Building to Gunther vs. Goldberg Survivor Series Match

After their run-in at Bad Blood, WWE is reportedly working on booking a future match between world heavyweight champion Gunther and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.

According to WrestleVotes (h/t Mukherjee), WWE may run an angle between Gunther and Goldberg at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Nov. 2 to set up a match between them at Survivor Series on Nov. 30.

WrestleVotes also reported that WWE began plans for a Gunther vs. Goldberg match shortly before their segment at Bad Blood.

Several legends were recognized in the crowd at Bad Blood, including Goldberg, which prompted The Ring General to take aim at him.

Gunther said that when he told Bret Hart a few weeks earlier that Goldberg was his all-time favorite wrestler, he was lying. Gunther also criticized Goldberg's parenting while he was next to his son, prompting Goldberg to hop the guardrail.

Security intervened and prevented a brawl from breaking out, but it seemed abundantly clear at that point that WWE was setting the stage for a future confrontation between Gunther and Goldberg.

Goldberg, 57, has not wrestled since losing to Reigns at Elimination Chamber in February 2022, but he made it clear in the months and years that followed that he wanted a proper retirement match.

There was no indication WWE was willing to give it to him, but things seem to have changed under the leadership of head of creative Triple H, embraced Goldberg in the ring at Bad Blood.

If Gunther vs. Goldberg is indeed the plan for Survivor Series, it would give Gunther a big title defense to build even more credibility, and it would given Goldberg a high-profile match to go out on.

Also, since Goldberg made his WWE return at Survivor Series 2016 after 12 years away, it would be a full-circle moment.

Hendry Wants Eminem in His Corner

In preparation for his TNA World Championship match against Nic Nemeth at Bound for Glory on Oct. 26, Joe Hendry made an appeal to one of the biggest celebrities from the Detroit area.

Hendry made a post Tuesday on X in which he tagged Eminem and extended an offer for the legendary rapper to be in his corner for arguably the biggest match of his career:

Bound for Glory is taking place in the Motor City, and it could be the scene of Hendry's greatest triumph.

For the past several months, Hendry has firmly established himself as the most popular performer in TNA thanks largely to his catchy theme song and his penchant for creating original songs to taunt his opponents.

Hendry has gotten so over with pro wrestling fans that WWE brought him in and featured him heavily on NXT as part of a talent exchange arrangement with TNA.

WWE even gave Hendry the opportunity to face Ethan Page for the NXT Championship at No Mercy, and although he fell short, it spoke to how highly the top pro wrestling company in the world thinks of him.

Hendry was spotlighted so much in WWE that it led to speculation about him leaving TNA for WWE on a full-time basis, although Fightful Select (h/t Carrier) reported this week that Hendry is signed with TNA through late 2025 and there has been an internal push for him to win the world title later this month at BFG.

Although Hendry previously held the Digital Media Championship in TNA, he has yet to hold any type of major world title in his career.

The fans have clearly been waiting for his breakthrough moment, and whether Eminem is in his corner or not, the Scottish star's time could finally come at Bound for Glory.
