Video: Mark Davis Jokes Raiders Traded Davante Adams for Tom Brady, NFL Draft Pick
Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis was able to turn lemons into lemonade in the wake of Davante Adams being traded to the New York Jets on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters during the NFL owners meetings in Atlanta, Davis joked that the Raiders traded Adams in exchange for Tom Brady and a 2025 third-round draft pick.

The Raiders' actual compensation for Adams was a conditional third-round pick. Brady entered into the equation later in the day when he was approved by the other owners to become a limited partner as part of the Raiders' ownership group.
Even though the Raiders don't get the benefit of Brady playing quarterback for them, his name in the headlines on the same day they decided to move on from Adams does make it easier for fans to accept not having a star player.
Of course, the key for Brady being involved in Raiders' ownership is finding a way to make the franchise consistently successful.
Since Mark took over as the primary owner of the Raiders following the death of his father, Al, in 2011, they have just two winning seasons and two playoff appearances. They haven't won a playoff game since reaching the Super Bowl during the 2002 season.
For perspective, Brady had 32 playoff victories and six Super Bowl titles from 2003 to '22. His only losing season as a starting quarterback in the NFL was in his final year when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished 8-9.
